Radeon HD 4870 1GB?
« on: March 01, 2010, 06:33:39 PM »
Dose any one know if PCLlinuxOS is good to go with the Radeon HD 4870 1GB?

I have a friend that wants to go Linux and I think they would like PCLinux if I installed it and set it up for them but they have a Radeon HD 4870 1GB. I a tad worried since it is an ATI HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card will they still get the card they paid for under Linux?

I am asking because I know ATI support can be ify.

If any one know please let me.

a friend has a 4830 and he didn't told me about any problems

if it is a x2 i don't know how it works in linux but the driver at least should enable one of the gpus, about the size of vram, it shouldn't be a problem

afik, that is not the case anymore

remember to install video driver, there is some posts mentioning how to do it
