get open office requires specific kernel?
« on: March 01, 2010, 05:25:51 PM »
I just tried system-configuration-get open office and got:

GetOpenOffice requires a 'tex'-kernel.

Exiting...

i am using 2.6.32.2-pclos5, as no other kernel will run the wifi in my laptop.

I suppose I could run on another kernel, not have wifi until it is done installing, but then these would feel like windows hoops to jump.

I like to either be pointed to "explanation of and choice of kernel" tutorial, or maybe better: It will all be moot in 2010 final...
No big deal I have OO on other boxes.

Hi nerdful1,
please try the latest version 1.6, see here, or if you use YouCanToo's repo you must use version 1.6-2
