This one seems a bit puzzling. The Minime 09 live CD neither boots nor installs on a scsi system unless the noscsi boot option is included. Why should that be? The hardware is completely standard - Adaptec AHA-2940U2W with two 73GB Fujitsu 15K drives, and good 68-conductor wide cabling with proper Ultra2 active termination, connected to the Ultra2 port on the Adaptec card. Both drives are configured correctly, and the card BIOS reports them both connected in Ultra2 LVD mode during boot. The system mainboard is a Slot-1 440BX model with a P3-600 processor and 1GB of PC-100 SDRAM installed.
Could anyone please enlighten me as to why the entire system hangs during boot unless the 'noscsi' parameter is entered?
