Aspell dependency nightmare
« on: February 27, 2010, 08:42:41 AM »
I'm trying to clean up my PCLinuxOS install, because I remaster it and install it on various other computers.

I'm using Synaptics.

Trying to remove the package: aspell-csb (I don't really know what it is but I smell I don't need it)

Forces the following ZULU LANGUAGE packages to be installed:
  aspell-zu
  locales-zu

So it's already not looking very good. I accept to install them, with the idea to get rid of them later.

When I try to remove them, it wants to force the installation of:
  aspell-yi
  locales-yi

This is the YIDDISH language pack for aspell.

Nothing against Zulu or Yiddish, really, but I DO NOT NEED THESE LANGUAGE PACKS!

Trying to get rid of the Yiddish packages above, it wants me to install...
  aspell-zu
  locales-zu

There is no way out. On PCLinuxOS, you must have the Yiddish or Zulu aspell language pack installed.

Either I do not really understand the subtelties of package dependencies, or this is totally ridiculous.  ::)
