[SOLVED] Default window size on open?
« on: February 26, 2010, 11:14:48 PM »
I apologize in advance if this has been asked before, but my searching hasn't turned up much.

What I'm trying to do is get my program windows to be maximized when I open them by default. I'm aware that there's some kind of "preference" setting somewhere and the windows are "supposed" to reopen in the same state you closed them out at, but my system isn't getting the hint. Normally, they open and I have to manually maximize them, EACH time.

Yeah, it's nothing major in terms of functionality, but it's getting on my nerves.

Drayco84,
All windows, or just Firefox?
If it's just FF then drag the window corner to desired size.

All windows, and even when I drag the corner to maximum size it doesn't "save".

My two biggest annoyances are FF and Seamonkey Composer.

Right click on the top border, after you have the window set to the size you desire. Choose Advanced --> Special Window Settings. In the new window that pops up, check the box for the first item, Position, then from the drop down menu Remember. Do the same for the second item, Size. If you want the window to always open on the same desktop, also do the same for the sixth item, Desktop. There is another drop down menu where you can select the specific desktop if it differs from the one currently on.

There are nine items for which you have choices. Use the ones that apply to your needs. When you are done, click the OK button at the bottom right.

Of what use be there for joy, if not for the sharing thereof?

Works with both Seamonkey and FF. Thanks a bunch!
