networking with windows 7 [SOLVED, Sort Of]

Hello everyone: I just installed win 7 on an extra HD I had just to see what all the hype was about (so far I am not impressed) and I can't for the life of me figure out what I need to do to get my PCLOS box to see this win 7 box, I use Smb4k regulary to move files between PCLOS and this same box running XP with no problems, anyone file sharing with PCLOS and Win 7 that can give me a little push in the right direction. Thanks.

O K , finally figured it out, It's just that stuff is buried in win 7 and you really have to dig to find what you are looking for. The process is basically the same, you just have to find the right buttons to push to make it happen. Now it shows up in Smbk4 and I am able to drag files into it the same as XP. Hope this helps anyone else, it can be done, just in a more around about way.

Well lets see if I can remember, I believe I started in the Control Center, and made sure the name on the win7 box was "WORKGROUP" win7 has a new networking system called home group or something like that but that will only share between win7 boxes. After the name was correct I think I right clicked on the file and went to the share tab and then to an advanced tab to get the permissions. I know this is somewhat rambling, but you know how it is when you jump through so many hoops to get somewhere that you lose your way back? ???, Thats kinda how this was for me and win7, I clicked on a lot of stuff until it finally worked and then forgot most of the stuff I clicked on!! Sorry for the really poor instructions, but I'm really not sure precisely what I did do.

I've been trying to do this for about two weeks with no luck, I can see the shares but I can't get to anything as I always hit a CIFS error.
As a result I have no shared printer access either.

At least I know it's possible I guess, I'll let you know if I get there.
