Can NOT update Gnome 2009.2
« on: February 23, 2010, 09:10:16 PM »
Hi all
This is the third time ( on three new installs) I have tried to update Gnome 2009.2 through Synaptic
About 696MB and 984 Packages --->>>all the packages download - then it starts the installing packages- and quits almost immediately - showing me all thew packages need downloading again

This is from the "heatnet" repository

Has any one any ideas on how to get this up and running

Cheers for Years
Colin

Well that didn't work

One Indiana site was no longer in use

The other had 16 broken packages and refused to download.

Think it is a loop as no downloads start it only wants to applying changes and the we get the 16 broken packages pop up

Do incremental updates a little at a time or just wait a while for 2010 Gnome.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Thank you so much Texstar

Although two things stand out here --->>>
Synaptic seems to be in some sort of loop and goes straight into applying changes -
And OOPS!!! :-[ how do we do incremental updates???

Although am looking forward to 2010 release

Cheers for years

Before PSLOS Gnome2010 appears you can try this link http://linuxgator.org/PCLinuxOS/iso/

You can find there 2009.2 ISO updated (almost including December 2009) to 2010. Maybe it will help for now.

Also check out this link http://linuxgator.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2303&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Thanks Uncle
Think I may have done the damage by clicking "YES" continue after there were broken packages from the 696MB download and put Synaptic into a loop.

Will look at again though
