« on: February 22, 2010, 07:29:28 PM »
I have a hard drive which is IDE in my pc, i have currently a raid config with Windows xp installed on it.  the ide drive is a spare. when i load pclinux os as a live cd.  I then go to the icon that says install pclinux os i go thru the wizard and it does not find the spare 320 gig drive. it says no drives to install too.

Not certain how much I can help you but lets try  ;)

Lets see whether you can see the drives from the PCC (The PClinuxOS Control Centre)

Click on the PCC  icon in the taskbar  - the one with an Spanneer and Screwdriver (rest your mouse over it and it should say - "Configure Your Computer - Administration Center")

Once that opens select the "Local disks" entry

Then select "Manage Disk Partitions!

That should then show graphical view off your disks (and partitions) that can be "seen"

If it can see the 2 disks they may be named something like SDA and SDB (or HDA and HDB) something along those lines

Alternatively, open up Konsole (as root) and type

fdisk -l
thats an "ell" not one

Paste what you see back here.
