Shadows [SORTED, by myself]

Suddenly, I am getting shadows all over the place, to the right of icons, text, pictures, everything, even the cursor. ??? I've checked in Desktop Effects and Shadows is unticked. What could be causing this?

Found the solution! By degaussing the monitor all is back to normal.  ;D
