Thanks for your kind response!

1. The link is not timed out, it works, but there might be access restriction for some locations or something.
2. I have no idea what "IIUC" is and research (Synaptic&Google) gave me nothing.
3. VLC is a great soft, I tried it before posting here and it doesn't to the job (record streaming from the given link) I need for now.

If I Understand Correctly   ;)

You should be able to get the URL of the stream, put it into VLC, playing the stream with VLC, and then record what it is playing.

As I cannot access the stream I cannot get the URL from here unfortunately ..... the link you posted is not the stream itself I think ......

regards.

IIUC... ups, seems I have missed that abbreviation :) never met before...

As for VLC. Yes, I can get the URL and put into VLC and that's all. It does not even play the URL, so have no chance to try recording...

And yes the link I posted is for streaming media. It's for a TV channel.
You can try this link http://www.myvideo.ge/?act=dvr&chan=gpb
The site http://www.myvideo.ge/ records everyday streaming's from different TV channels and then makes available to watch them for 10 days, you can also watch LIVE.

Anyways, thanks a lot for your time and consideration.

The site requires a log in ... user name and password which is most likely why I cannot get to the stream.

It may also be why VLC cannot get the stream ....... maybe there is a method of including your username and password in the URL you put into VLC so that it has access to the stream and then can record it?

Actually there is no need to register or have username in order to access the TV channels.

Well, I tested that link using proxy server and seems I was correct, in guessing

I found out that for non-Georgia (my country) IP-s they have another (beta) version of the website.
This one >>> http://www.qartuli.tv

That's why, you were not able, to get the picture I am getting :)
