Konsole Use in Split Screen
« on: February 16, 2010, 07:11:15 AM »
I am following a Vim tutorial in the terminal....and it is going (about as ) well (as expected  :P).

While the tutorial allows one to work right in the same terminal, I often bring up another terminal to practice the Vim commands in real time. This works fine and I can adjust the screen sizes to view both terminals.

I tried bringing up Konqueror and splitting the screen left/right. I then bring up Window/Show Terminal.  But I can't seem to bring up a different terminal for each screen. The one terminal extends across the bottom of the page.  Is there a way to have a terminal for each screen so I can read the tutorial in one and practice in another?

I am still interested to know if a split screen in Konqueror will accommodate 2 terminals....

In the mean time I think I have found the solution to using split screens in Vim.

In other words I won't have to use 2 terminals but can use 1 to show several Vim files/tutorials.  Whether I will be able to really do it with ease or efficiency is another story.   :(   But the learning is the fun part. ;)
