solved - Laptop Mode Enabled, Not Active
« on: February 11, 2010, 06:59:20 AM »
Good afternoon  :)

I noticed the other day when starting my laptop in verbose mode that during the boot process there is an entry which says:

laptop mode enabled, not actice.

I have had a look in PCC>System>Manage System Services and laptop mode is running and set to run on boot. My question is why is it saying not active and how do I activate it?

Regards

I've been wondering the same... Anyone knows something? What does it mean?

I think I may have found it. Up till this weekend I was always running my laptop on mains power but then last week my battery failed, it was only lasting 4 mins from fully charged. I have replaced the battery and in order to 'condition' it I have been alternately running mains till fully charged and battery till fully depleted. Whilst using the battery I notice that in the boot process it now says 'laptop mode enabled, active' and when on mains 'laptop mode enabled, not active'.

I'll mark this as solved.
