you just made me remember why i like so much linux, what you did is extremely hard in another os

about size, afik, you can use svg or other formats up to 256x256 but since AndrzejL reports bigger sizes i think there is no limit now

i know there was a 64x64 before

your desktop is now 100% unique!

I sized my icon at 256 x 236. I saved as a .png with a transparent background, placed in it's own folder, and simply pointed to the file.:)  I can make as many as I want.:) Sweet!

And it re-sizes nicely when the toolbar is resized. PCLinuxOS and KDE4 are simply awesome!

Yep.:)  Exactly why I love Linux, as well.:)

The amazing thing is, all the functionality and effects for that button (highlighting, depressing, etc.) is still there.  Absolutely slick!:)

Rudge, thanks.:)  I see the possibilities in populating the desktop icons with my own characters.:)

Since KBFX is not a KDE4 application, I was curious if anyone has had any luck using the wider, rectangle KBFX-style buttons on the KDE4 panel. I've tried a few things, but have not really had any luck: simply using the wider icon causes the button to be resized to the standard square button. I also found a plasmoid (big lancelot, I believe it was called) that would place a KBFX-style icon on the panel, but I found it to be a bit buggy and could only get it bring up the lancelot menu rather than the regular kmenu.

Anyone else had any luck?

(I just kind of miss the way the KBFX buttons create a destinction from the other buttons on the panel. Currently I'm using a regular button and a spacer to separate it from the other buttons on the, but its just not as nice.)

I dropped Lancelot on the panel as a widget but didn't like the transparent window that popped up.  Otherwise, I'd use it.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with KBFX.
