(Solved!) LBC
« on: February 07, 2010, 01:23:50 PM »
I'd ike to listen the LBC radio stream.  Their web site is telling me I have Linux and need a compatible player (MPlayer). Well, I do.:)  I have MPlayer, but cannot seem to get the stream to play. I downloaded "playlist.asx" and playing it in MPlayer or other is not working.  The Mozilla plugin in Firefox doesn't get far enough for controls to come up to copy the URL.

Other sites allow me to play an.asx file through a player like Kaffeine.  But with LBC, it's not happening.

I found their FAQ and it provided info on getting the URL for their stream.:)

Can you give me the direct URL of your audio streams?
We can only offer support for streaming via the LBC Radio Player, but if you need the URL for your Digital Radio or SONOS System, save these links:
LBC 97.3 FM: http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/Show.asx?StreamID=156

LBC 1152 News: http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/Show.asx?StreamID=157

It works in Kaffeine!:) Comes right up!:)

I tried the original link and followed through as you described, and clicked to say I had a compatible player .......  I got a white window .....  but I left it there for some time and eventually it played ......  but nothing appeared in that window!  Weird ...... but I was using Konqueror so that may have had some effect.

Anyway glad you found the stream info.

EDIT
Just tried it in FF and the mplayer plugin came up in a window and played after a time.
Strange it did not work for you ...
