Qtfpsgui
« on: February 07, 2010, 10:52:04 AM »
I was going through the Feb 2010 issue of the PCLOS magazine.

http://pclosmag.com/index.php/latest-mag/15-february-2010-issue-of-the-new-pclinuxos-magazine

On page 45, there's a very interesting article on how to do HDR photography using  Qtfpsgui and GIMP.  The only problem with the article is that the program Qtfpsgui doesn't seem to be in the repositories.  As a result, I can't try it out... I looked at Sourceforge, and see I can download and compile it, but as I understand it's not a good idea to go outside the repositories.

Since the article is in the PCLOS magazine, I'm hoping there is a PCLOS source for Qtfpsgui...   (After all, it's a PCLOS magazine... right?  :) )   If not, I guess I'm requesting that Qtfpsgui be added to the repository and that the mods move this message to "Package Request".

Thanks in advance

jwt874,

What desktop environment are you running? KDE 3.5.10? KDE 4.x? Other?

IIRC, it's in the KDE 4 repository.

jwt873, look for Qtpfsgui. Notice the "pf" instead of "fp"  ;)

I'm using KDE4

I directly cut Qtpfsgui from your message and pasted it into the search function on synaptic..  It still turned up nothing.  I've tried this over a couple of days.  I've even tried searches with partial descriptions like 'qtfp'  and 'sgui'

I did a 'reload' in Synaptic and tried again.  This his time the program turned up...   This is odd, because I did a reload just last week.  Nothing should have changed..

Oh well.. I finally have it... Thanks for the help..  Now I'm going to try some HDR photography :)
