HP Printer Problem (Solved)
« on: January 30, 2010, 02:15:27 PM »
I have a new installation of PCLinux.  I am using an HP laserjet p1006, which the system autodetects.
In fact, the system thinks it's running just fine.
I send a print job to the printer, and it tells me the job has printed.  It hasn't.  Nothing prints.

the printer works on my MacBook and on an XP laptop my son owns.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

I got it working by following Step 7 in:
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/pclinuxos.html
Make sure that you follow the instructions concerning unplugging or reboot.
After that run hp-setup from a terminal.
