GnuCash With Direct OFX Download
« on: February 06, 2010, 07:59:47 AM »
Is anyone using gnucash with ofx download installed and working?  I've installed gnucash-ofx and the libaqbanking packages from synaptic, but I don't have "online banking" available under tools in gnucash.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the packages in different orders, but that hasn't worked.  Also I've tried compiling gnucash from source with --enable-ofx flag added to the configuration... however compiling wasn't successful because of errors related to goffice.

So I'm wondering if the version of gnucash in synaptic was built without ofx enabled... if so is it possible to have it added?  Or am I just missing something obvious?

I've installed gnuCash both from Synaptic and from source with ofx support and it has always worked for me. However, I haven't done this in amount six months since I have switched over to Kmymoney. Try running gnucash from a terminal window and look for ofx related errors. What errors do you receive when building from source?

Actually I don't get any errors... at least I don't recall getting any when trying to build from source, and  I just now started GnuCash from a terminal and I didn't see any messages.

My issue is even though I've installed the aqbanking-ofx package from Synaptic, I don't see the online banking option under "tools".

I'll look through my install process again to make sure I'm not missing any obvious packages.

Thanks for your input.

I just installed gnuCash from Synaptic and I have no Online Banking listed under Tools. I believe I installed all the required aqbanking and ofx packages. When building from source, did you use both the --enable-hbci and --enable-ofx switches?
