My 9 year old niece was given a Toshiba A75 S206 laptop to 'play with' because the previous owner thought it was unrepairable- it does have a couple issues and a dead HD but could be made viable again. So being the geek I am I said, "no, let me see what I can do with it", the specs are actually not bad with a dual core P4 @2.8 GHz and a nice screen (although a couple marks on it from my niece and nephew being rough with it)
My question is, I am running PCLOS on my main desktop install, and have had problems with You Tube stuttering and such to the point I just accept that Flash doesn't work so good on Linux right now and I have to deal with it.
Now, I could not get 2009.2 to boot up on the laptop but 2009.1 did. So two questions:
1- Why would the older version load up fine but not the new, ostensibly more up to date one?
2- You tube videos ran great. no stuttering, nothing. How is this possible on a live CD but it runs horribly from a full HD installation in this box?
BTW- Anyone know a good place someone can buy just a single keyboard key from? It needs a "D" key replaced.
