Not a software solution, but Intel graphics suck, I would suggest getting a low cost discrete card. I have both Nvidia and ATI on my machines and they are well supported. I prefer the picture quality on the ATI card. If you know any Windows Gamers, chances are they have some cards knocking around in drawers.

You are not alone. If you search for "intel graphics driver" you will see numerous posts about the problem, including some from me, like this one: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,66830.msg550293.html#msg550293

I hope when the new ISO comes out it will include some newer Intel graphics drivers and/or kernel patches. My current system runs well with the i810 driver and some tweaks to xorg.conf, but this is not supported in the testing kernels and I'm therefore anxious to see whether I will lose 3d when the 2010 disc comes out.

So if none of the current drivers help I just hope there is good news coming.

The .32 and .33 series of kernel should have better successes with the Intel chipsets, they're steadily increasing their contributions to the kernel code base (up to 8-10% from around 3-4%).
Why?
