Quanta troubles

I have used Quanta for quite a while, but now when ever I try to start it, I get the messages below
I have tried completely removing (nb searching synaptic for quanta was not much help! but at least these forums did)
and re-installing, but still same issue.


(no debugging symbols found)
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/i686/libthread_db.so.1".
(no debugging symbols found)
`shared object read from target memory' has disappeared; keeping its symbols.

Are you trying to run quanta under KDE4?   If so, that's your problem.  It's not supported.

If you're running it under KDE3.xx then I can't help.
