Asus G51JX Notebook Keyboard Backlight
« on: March 28, 2010, 01:11:32 PM »
Hello,

Seems to be some issues with controlling the keyboard backlight on the Asus G51JX or the G51J models. I had the same issue on Fedora and spoke
with the asus-laptop module developer and I was able to come up with a script to control the keyboard backlight with the acpi events and actions.
Attached are the two files. asus_g51_jx_keyboard.sh.txt should be copied to /etc/acpi/actions and perform
a chmod +x asus_g51_jx_keyboard.sh. asus_g51_jx_keyboard should be copied to /etc/acpi/events. Do
a service acpid restart and everything should work. Rename the attached files taking off the .txt of both files!!
Kernel 2.6.32+ needs to be used and I tested this with pclinuxos 2010 B1 Gnome
If anyone else has either model let me know as I was only able to test with my asus-g51jx-a1.

Thanks
