[SOLVED] e17 - Desktops Settings panel not fully functional?

e17 had seemed promising initially; however, there were some annoying issues that seem somewhat baffling to me.  Foremost amongst them is the desktop 'flipping' behaviour that seems enabled by default, and is triggered whenever the cursor bumps against a side edge.  I have been attempting to disable this confusing 'feature'; however, so far all my attempts have had no effect.  The attached image (for which the overall lack of quality I do wish to extend apologies, as I've not yet discovered how to perform screen capturing in e17 either, unfortunately) shows the correct Settings section, with the applicable settings disabled - yet; despite even fully rebooting, the desktops still 'flip' regardless.

Could someone please enlighten me, of whether or not these settings actually do function as intended?  Or, is this indeed a known 'bug' in e17?

Thank you, Texstar - your instructions indeed did solve the problem.  I did not delete all of the keybindings though - only the top and both side bindings, instead.  I left the bottom binding in place, as I was concerned there may not have been any way to return the taskbar shelf from hiding, otherwise.

I believe you have issued these instructions to me once previously; however, I became sidetracked in attempting to grapple with the KDE4 issues, and by the time I returned to e17 I found I was no longer able to locate your previous posting.  I realise that you must certainly be especially busy with the coming KDE 4.4 integration, as well as of course the 2010 release - and I do as surely extend my gratitude for your kind assistance.  Please rest assured that it was not in vain, for having experienced the difficulties and problems associated with KDE4 so far, I realised it would likely be better to have an alternative window manager at the ready - just in case KDE4 should suffer any further unforeseen issues.

Enlightenment seems to me a very different and complex environment; not as complete nor quite as versatile as KDE4, but truly having its own advantages nevertheless.  (as an example:  I have just watched a British television video, full-screened, and displaying acceptably-smooth playback - with the CPU speed manually set, to only 337MHz.)

I shall endeavour to learn more of it.

I will try that too, thank you. Enlightenment has been my choice in my daily work, a little difficult to learn but is worth the effort, the only thing I can't do at this moment is shorten the file names.

Indeed it is little strange but I like it already.

What do you mean i can change filenames from efm by right-clicking the file and choosing 'change name'.

Hooooooooo,   Page flipping has been disabled by default for the next release of PCLinuxOS e-17.   I had become so accustomed to it that I just knew where to look when 'stuff' disappeared.  Now it's steady as a rock.

Some tips to move your windows over your desktops:

* left-click on the window thumbnail lets you slide it over your desktops (try this with 4x4 or more desktops lol)
* left-click on any window on any desktop and drag it to your current desktop to move it to your current desktop
* extra mouse actions in the advanced setting dialog of the pager gadget

One more:
* drag the icon from the left-corner of your window and drop it:
          - in the ibar gadget to add an icon to the launcher
          - in the ibox gadget to iconify the window
