Unable to eject disc while running livecd
« on: January 26, 2010, 06:27:44 AM »
Apols if is in wrong place peoples. Couldn't decide on best spot.

Anyway, when running the livecd, and loading it completely into RAM (always my preference, as all current machines have at least 1GIG of RAM avail), it no longer seems to allow me to eject the disc and free up the disc drive. Used to able to with 2007. Used it several times to load up and recover files from friends screwed up/infected windows machines, and then use burner to backup their files to cd/dvd. Obviously I cannot do this if I can't make it spit out the disc. I don't understand why not, it's all loaded into RAM, so the drive should not keep it locked. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but it does make it difficult to demonstrate some of the more useful abilities of a livecd, and makes it that much harder when trying to rescue a friends files from their box they brought around. Prefer to burn their stuff off, not wanting an infected machine connected to my network.

Does anyone else have this problem? I really can't see it being confined to just me. Can anyone shed any light on this annoyance please? Thanks in advance.

Cheers.
There is no shame in saying "I don't know".
