[SOLVED] Taskbar Volume Control No Longer Functional
« on: January 24, 2010, 12:48:42 PM »
I'm not totally sure if this is a KDE4 issue or not. But my taskbar volume control quit working within the last several days. Yes, I recently upgraded to KDE4. Everything is updated, nothing was held back, no partial upgrade, no error messages that I remember.
I can still change the volume with Kmix by using the PCM slide switch, but the Master switch (Kmix) and the taskbar volume, neither has any effect on the volume. I'm puzzled
about this....  ???

Hi dobbs.

Right click on KMix (icon in the panel [LOOK SCREENSHOTS BELOW]) > Select master channel > Choose PCM and OK it. Try it then.

Hope this helps

No master channel selection available when I right click Kmix. I am given the option of adding various channels to the kmix board. Btw, Kmix version 3.5 is the one I have. Is this correct?

dobbs, Andy meant right-clicking on the kmix icon in the task bar. It works the same in KDE3 and KDE4.

So when You right click on the KMix You dont get that little window that allows You to click the

Select Master Channel

Button that then allows You to open that bigger window and click on the

PCM

and then OK the window to close it? Use Ksnapshot and imageshack.com to show me what You see.

About the version 3.5 seems to be ok.

Hope this helps.

Did I explained it badly? Sorry if I did.
