Not a very satisfying result though ::)

No - it's just 'pick your favourite flavour lollipop' and live with it, I think!

Well, to heck with it - I'm going to attempt it regardless.  Shall post results tomorrow.  Good night!

Well, the 'results' are not so useful to me.  I created a 2.1GB /swap partition on an EeePC's internal 4GB SSD, and although the 'Suspend to Disk' function did perform properly, there seemed to be but little advantage to its use - startup and shutdown still remained somewhat lengthy, nevertheless.

The 'Suspend to RAM' function proved less reliable however, for upon attempting to return from it the system remained unresponsive, and indeed several icons even disappeared from the taskbar entirely!  This, on a machine with 2GB of RAM?  I see no use for it accordingly, and now wish to remove that selection from the KMenu shutdown options list entirely - so; could anyone please tell me:  how may this removal be accomplished?

Sorry VC, I can't see a way to do that. someone else is bound to know though.

It seems odd that suspend to disk worked and suspend to ram didn't, I've always found it to be the other way about if there's going to be a problem.

Andy
