PcLinuxos 2009.2
« on: January 19, 2010, 09:18:18 AM »
Not sure where to put this so please bare with me.

I am trying to load the 2009.2.iso to a sata 600gb drive.
I haven't the vaguest idea which one of the entries on the 1st selection
screen to use. I did however check the download and it was ok.
So I used the 1st entry. It didn't like that for some reason and I
had to load to ram. This seemed to work until I got to the logon
screen. No matter what I put in the username and password it failed.
I seem to remember having trouble with the logon screen in 2009.1.
I have pulled the plugs on the 1st HD with Vista to make sure it is
not destroyed.
Could someone help me get this straightened out Please.

Thank you for helping.
I had go use "copy to Ram" as I got this error using "safe boot": error: no suitable media for the livecd content found
workaround: copy the context of the livecd from your boot device to an ide/sata disk.

I guess it loaded PCLinuxOS as I can get into Firefox but the installation icon is still on the main screen.
I have not been asked to put in a new Username or Password. Still have to use guest guest.
I think I am confused.
I should probably dtsrt over from scratch.

Right or wrong I took PcLinuxOS 2009.2 off my puter.
Problems with a confusing install. Problems with Username and password.
Problems with Kmail. I am now scared to death that a future update
to PcLinuxOS 2009.1 will screw that up also. I don't know whether it
is due to kde4, the unknown options on the sign on screen during the install,
kmail(smtp) or ATT with their Yahoo crap or all of the above.
