Pavillion dv2000 CPU + Will not suspend to ram, disk, hibernate
« on: January 16, 2010, 11:03:32 PM »
Anyone had any luck getting one of these to suspend to ram, disk or hibernate? It has kde4 running on it so unsure if it would do it with kde3.5. Only option i have is Suspend to Ram. First time i tried it, it locked the screen then the system locked completely, had t power off via the power button. Now it locks the screen and leaves the screen saver running, but does not suspend to ram. In Power Options Advanced i notice the CPU> "CPU Can Be Turned Off" has an X next to it. This will be one issue to do with it i reckon. Also i have the impression that the XP partition is being automounted in kde4. In Dolphin when click on it it shows the usual windows folders in there. Im using a mouse with double click to open so it should not mount unless double clicked. But then i don't no much about kde4 and all the differences. Getting there though, slowly! So if you happen to have this particular old lappy and know any tips or tricks associated with these i would love to hear from you. Thanks, Wayne.
