I like CWP but can someone tell me how to make the widget larger, I'm old can hardly read it.

Unlock widgets (from the cashew in top right hand corner of the screen). Then hover over the CWP and you will find a very faint rectangle to the side of it. At the top of this rectangle there is a little square. Move this around and the CWR will change in shape and size.

You might need a magnifying glass to see the rectangle. :)

Hello coachj, you can get CWP from the kde-look site (www.kde-look.org), just choose  the rpm version and follow the instructions, it seems to install quite easily.

Why ???

We do have it Synaptic for quite some time ;D

Regarding resizing...
When you move your mouse over the widget you will see a small column display with the configuration choices.  The top one is for resizing.  Click and drag it to resize it.  To move the entire widget, click and drag anywhere on this column.

About configuring...
Be sure to check out the ability to display different images and add new locations.  Is it okay to mention "hotlinking" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inline_linking) here?  With a click or two from the desktop, one can get a fixed radar shot of your local area and an animated shot showing weather movement speed and direction, which I think is nice.  I saw this link mentioned as a good reference:
http://image.weather.com/images/maps/current/curwx_600x405.jpg

If anyone finds a different icon set which can be used, please post the location.  I am finding that some icons do not display.  Maybe they don't exist?

coachj, have you tried to "lock" the widgets?
This may not help as I do not have mine locked and I do not have that problem.  But it may be worth a try.

thank you, it is based on a system monitor i found in kde-look.org some years ago

it explained how to edit everything in the monitor and since it is simple to understand most of the stuff it contains you can edit it, remove parts and add code and images from other monitors, not modular but you can adjust it in many ways

I don't get my local weather forecast on any of the applets that came with KDE 4. I haven't tried CWP but I do like Liquid Weather.

Ohh...yes...Liquid Weather. But Archie, if you liked LW you'll like CWP too ;)

Yes, I do like CWP. Thanks to you and nixer for pointing it out. It now grace my desktop with the week's forecast.

I found a replacement for Liquid Weather-- It's yaWP-- put on desktop (Like Liquid weather) have it set up to show 5 days and use the naked theme. It looks like LW but MUCH more versatile and much better-- then even CWP--   ;D
