ktorrent won't download from torrentbytes.net

Hi there!

I'm a newbie giving pclinux a try and ran into a problem when was trying to download from torrentbytes.net, Ktorrent won't start the download.. ever, nothing happens. I tried multiple times with several different torrent that I know work (torrents I've tested on different computer).


When I try other torrents from other sites and never run into the same problem, so I guess it's some setting I need to take a look at in ktorrent.

I suspect this is a very small thing to fix, but I'm clueless. Can anybody please help me

ktorrent should be in the PCLOS repositories. Have you tried looking it up in Synaptic? You do know how to use it as the default upgrader/installer, don't you? Unless you have prior Linux experience you shouldn't try programs from anywhere else. You could easily destroy your system.

Have you tried different trackers? Due to law suits, court judgments, and such, a lot of .torrent files on many sites have no active tracker, or at least have the default tracker disabled. Try all trackers listed, then if none work, look for the same .torrent from another site. If found, it will likely have a different set of trackers listed.

Sorry for late answer, I've been swamped lately.

Here's what I'm experiencing...

If I download a torrent from torrentbytes.net, nothing happens. If I go to another computer with another os the very same torrent works. I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the torrent, but something to do with a firewall or a port or some other setting thing like that.

So any ideas?

does it come up with an error message ? if not try and start Ktorrent in konsole/terminal and retry pasting here any error message
