KB2KSkype - More Eyes Needed

Having moved to KDE4 the above package is no longer compatible which means no Skype for me presently.

kb2kskype:
 Depends: libDCOP.so.4  but it is not installable
 Depends: libkdecore.so.4  but it is not installable
 Depends: libkdefx.so.4  but it is not installable
 Depends: libkdeui.so.4  but it is not installable
So, I guess a new build is needed ...

I thought to attempt to build it, but the results of   ./configure  give

in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
It seems I may need to pass something to configure?

Any assistance welcome ... am rather lost    ???

I tried installing Kdevelop4  to see if it would help but no unfortunately.

Any suggestions would be welcome ......

Soon as I get my netbook online, I will see about skype in kde4.  Never used it before but playing with it in Microshaft Winblows7 was way kool.  First, get PCLOS working on this thing, get wireless, test skype/webcam/microphone.

I will play with this, as time permits.  Thx JohnBoy.

Any ideas about that "prefix" error I am getting when trying to build the package?

Only prefix I've ever messed with is --prefix=/user

Did you check ./configure --help ?

I noticed nothing ...... but that is no guarantee!   :D

I wondered if it had anything to do with the use of KDE4 directory in PCLOS rather than plain KDE ........

Glad I noticed this thread in my unread posts listing.
Today I was going to 1. Convert to KDE4 since getting my wireless going in this new laptop.
Get Skype set up.
I think I will get Skype going, then convert to KDE4 on this laptop,
If I can be of help, let me know, I have plenty of boxes with various Windows, virgin PCLinuxOS, and tainted PCLinuxOS around.

Soon I want to have some VM stuff to play with, but this is enough for now.

Skype itself is no problem in KDE4 ....... works well here.

The problem I have is that the ATA through which I use Skype normally needs this package. The package worked well on KDE3, but won't on KDE4.

So I guess it needs to be rebuilt for KDE4 ..... but I am unable to do that either.

Oh, ok, then i'll switch to KDE4 after getting the sound running.
I was so busy getting the wifi running on this laptop, I didn't notice the sound was broken until I tried Skype, now off to that chore.

I just put in the latest kernel from testing. the ---.31 kernel has a sound bug documented related to my equipment. HP dv7-3065dx notebook. Uses Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc RS880 Audio Device [Radeon HD 4200] sound stuff.
Now everything works, wifi, Skype. So a new install with testing kernel should work, as I'm sure the 2010 install disk will. Oh, on KDE4 too.

Have You found solution to this? Trying to build software for tablet and getting exactly the same error... Googling told me to install kdebase4-devel - and so I did but its still no go. I also added kdevelop4 and kdelibs4-devel‚... No go too...

OK what I got was to play with prefixes but its all no good. Maybe try looking at that and maybe You will find something I cant? It looks like a kde bug. Running ./configure with kde devel packages installed should make it to work...
