Keyboard layout [SOLVED]
« on: January 05, 2010, 02:41:13 AM »
Every time I want to switch languages I have to access PCC>Configure mouse and keyboard and select the language in Keyboard Layout. Too many ticks involved. Isn't there a simpler method to switch from one language to another? In XP an icon sitting in the systray would enable me to switch with a just a tick. Anything similar here? TIA

Just discovered THE way (another forum) to do it in KDE4. How could I miss it?  :-[

1- KDE control panel
2- Icon regional and languages (blue flag)
3- Keyboard layout
- tick "activate keyboard layout"
- drag the desired keyboard layouts to the right column

4- click apply

Now in the taskbar you have a flag of the active keyboard layout

JUST CLICK ON IT TO TOGGLE TO ANOTHER LAYOUT!!!

Yeah, that's the best and quickest way to set layouts up. I don't knew, that it's about KDE 4, my solution is strictly for KDE 3, where it was tough to set Alt-Shift for layout switcher ;)
Now, in KDE 4, there is no problems at all :)
