An LXDE pager question
« on: January 03, 2010, 10:42:35 AM »
Right; so I've got the LXDE release live-booted on another machine at the moment, and here's my first question:

1)  How do I set the number of rows in the pager, and make its background completely (as in 'invisible') transparent?

This won't make the pager transparent, but it may be close to what you want.
Right click the panel and choose Panel Settings. Click the Appearance tab and choose the solid color option. The color box to its right is set to transparent by default. You can change its value, if you choose.

Yes; I've already found that, but there seems to be little point in making the panel transparent if the pager can't be resized/reconfigured/moved/made transparent as well, right?  So i'm thinking that there must be a setting for such somewhere, and hoping I'm not merely mistaken.

Have you looked for its configuration file?

No, I was making use of a third-millennium approach instead, by looking in the GUI first.  If it's not directly configurable, then it's not modern enough for what I'm looking for.  I'll have another look in a couple of months though, regardless - things evolve fast in the linux realm.  Thanks!

Thanks .... was wondering if it was me ....... so is there a particular config file that could be edited, do you know? ...... maybe a small script could be run to allow changing that?

I hadn't thought of making changes to that, so I haven't investigated.

Yes there is.  Go to configure LXDesktop => Configure Openbox => Desktops.

You have to have obconf installed. My lxde desktop was installed with task lxde and did not automatically install obconf (openbox configuration). Thanks for the tip.
