Working with Partitions
« on: August 16, 2010, 10:28:08 AM »
This is a link to the first part of a very useful and informative article on the subject of partition size increasing, size reducing, and moving.
If someone spots part two they might add it in a post in this thread, thanks.

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-resizing-partitions-1/index.html

It is also available in PDF form for those who might wish to keep it.

EDIT:  Thanks for posting this  Krisbee

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-resizing-partitions-2/index.html

The second article covers resizing LVM and troubleshooting techniques.

On the same subject, as well as Gparted in our repositories, there is also "partitionmanager" ...  KDE Partition Manager.
I have not used it but what I have read indicates it is good.

regards.

Just from looking over the site, I think part 2 hasn't been published yet.

In the meantime here is something I am sure some will find interesting and informative ........

How to Install and boot 145 operating systems in a PC

There is a considerable amount of information if you can manage to last the distance  ;)

If you hadn't seen it - part 2 is here:

The second article covers resizing LVM and troubleshooting techniques.
