Add programs to the panel, KDE4
« on: January 01, 2010, 05:22:18 PM »
This may have already posted.

To add Firefox or any other application/program to the panel click Application Launcher, browse to the application you want to add. Right click on the application and a popup will have 3 choices. Add to Favorites, Add to Desktop or Add to Panel. You can use some Widgets, but they do not cover every application.
When arguing with a fool, make sure he is not being similarly entertained.

That is a great tip!
I tried the KDE3 method to add launchers to the plasma desktop & gave up. But it is built right in! duh!
I love KDE4 (except when it doesn't work right)
Happy New Year!

Oh yeah, I was always really bugged by the pop-up thingie when you hover desktop items. Then I noticed your comment about locking the widgets & gave it a try--lo & behold--that options bar is gone!  :D :D :D
So simple, tx!!

An even simpler method (with Widgets unlocked):
Click Application Launcher, browse to the application you want to add, and drag it into the panel where you want it to be  ;D
