>E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

I'm watching this thread attentively. I'm getting the same error with the same broken packages, and never used anything outside of the Update notifier and Synaptic. It's been going on for some weeks now. My other PCLOS machine updates fine.

And have you tried in Synaptic to simply remove the packages causing these issues:
libpq8.4_5
libpqxx

According to other threads on this topic (just do a forum search on "libpq") this may remove koffice in KDE3 and in fact koffice is no longer available for KDE3 in the repos. If removing the 2 packages above does not work or will erase half of your system you can also wait until Tex will have finished the currently ongoing Xorg update. Yet another option could be to try maik's suggestion but be warned he has not tested it and I can not replicate this problem on any of my machines.

good luck,
-p.

I simply removed KOffice via Synaptic and things went back to normal, the system is updating now. Thanks!

Thank you but I will not remove KOffice when
I use Kexi database constantly.
So it must wait
