ASUS My Cinema U3100MINI DVB-T (SOLVED)
« on: December 25, 2009, 06:09:32 PM »
Hi guys,

does anybody knows how to make the USB ASUS My Cinema U3100MINI DVB-T work in PCLinuxOS? I know that the kernel I have (2.6.27.31.tex5) has the module (dvb_usb_dib0700) but it seems that it does not recognize the hardware (although it understands that it is plugged in).
ASUS site has only drivers for Xandros.

I also edited the "/etc/modules"  file as follows:

Code: [Select]
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file should contain the names of kernel modules that are
# to be loaded at boot time, one per line.  Comments begin with
# a `#', and everything on the line after them are ignored.

evdev
dvb_usb_dib0700

but nothing happened.

Any hint?

Cheers

We don't use /etc/modules, as it's only for use with 2.4.x kernels. 2.6.x kernels use /etc/modprobe.conf and /etc/modprobe.preload.  ;)

Of what use be there for joy, if not for the sharing thereof?

Thanks a lot!

It was in the /etc/modprobe.preload but not in the /etc/modprobe.conf

I added and voila, device has been recognized.

Problem solved.

Many thanks!
