What is the present status of the servers?  I was able to reload from Pass a few weeks ago but am unable to do so now.

PASS is working just fine for me, but it doesn't matter - none of the repositories have been updated since around 8 January, so they all have the same data at this point. Look for Texstar's post re: PCLinuxOS 2010 repository for more insight.

I dunno, I like a fresh install every once in a while. The last few have worked very well for me with the same /home partition in place again and again. I still back it up first, of course, but haven't needed to so far. A nice clean nuke 'n' pave on the root partition just clears out the cobwebs!

I use the same partition for / and home (except at the home desktop where I have both partitions) and another partition for files so I just nuke all, the work after that helps me remember how to configure things and I don't keep configuration files from programs long gone

any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

How do you install leaving the same /home partition?

How do you install leaving the same /home partition?

Assuming you have a /home partition. If so, when you install it will detect the previous partition. Choose to not format /home and you should be fine.

Cheers.
