Just installed Seamonkey 2.0.1, tried adding AdBlock Plus:

SeaMonkey could not install the file at

because: Signing could not be verified.

I researched the issue at Wladimir Palents AdBlock Plus 'blog and I found a discussion which provides a solution.

The solution is here at this link, the last item under 'known issues'.  The signing problem is resolved for Seamonkey 2.0.1. I had no problems with AdBlock Plus and FF 3.5.6, probably because I upgraded from FF 3.5.5 which already had a functional AdBlock Plus.

Added this thread because searching for Seamonkey did not send me to the 'other' discussions, this topic title provides answers for both browsers.

FWIW, can changes be made to the RPM so the installed nss Startcom cert is approving for identifying software makers so that future users of FF 3.5.6 and SM 2.0.1 won't need to visit us, search, etc? Just a suggestion.

And I just ran into this again after installing PCLOS 2009.2

nss needs to me authorized for identifying software makers:

Firefox 3.5.6:
Edit menu - preferences - Advanced - Encryption tab - View Certificates button, in the new popup, select Authorities tab and scroll down to StartCom Ltd. Click the StartCom Certification Authority entry, click edit button, make certain that the entry for "This certificate can identify software makers” is checked and click OK.

Workes for me.
