how to set correct refresh rate??

tried to set the refresh rate to 60Hz but it keeps changing back to 75Hz on reboot .. how to set it so it stays ??

Not sure what video card you have, but on mine, I log in as root, then set it using the nvidia configuration tools. I've never been able to get it setup correctly any other way.

please give us more info

what video card you have, the monitor you have and the maximum refresh rate on the resolution you are using

if you have a lcd, the maximum refresh rate will always be 60, no matter it reports 75, it is 60

if you have a crt, always is beter to use anything over 60, 60 is bad for the eyes

still can't get the refresh rate to stick at 60Hz .. every time I reboot it is back to 75Hz
