At the 3ware website there are multiple versions of 3DM2 and every time I tried to install I would get the initialize prompt, then error "this version is for x86 Linux kernels" and then I would get a bunch of java errors.
Process of elimination says that this one is the correct version, as it did install without the error.........to save you some hassle and frustration with lost time:
The version that installed beautifully was 2.06.00.007 number 36 dated 9/09.........for some reason that one must be compiled differently:
