xfce4-notify
« on: October 26, 2009, 01:12:31 AM »
Jumping over from this tread, I've noticed when I want to install xfce4-notify from synaptic, having chosen the sprout repository, that this package "xfce4-notify" want to remove things like : synaptic, firefox, audacious, and many more.

Joble suggested to pass this to the fabulous Phoenix-team, since it can't be coming from an unsynced server, and my system was fully updated.

I'm carefull now, so no worries, but I thought I should mention it anyway

This package is not part of task-xfce4 nor it is part of a  normal update. It would require manual intervention for a user to install this package. However since it is not compatible with notification-daemon and conflicts with said package I have removed the xfce4-notify from the repo. It will be a few days before it is removed from the public server.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Thanx,
I know it is not part of a normal update, I just wanted to complete my system, and selected this package manually, and then I had the problem and since I was aware of the update and synaptic problem, I verified before proceeding, and did not install it.

Thanx Tex and the others.
