you can know what version of kde you are using by clicking on menu of any kde application and selecting "help" followed by "about kde"

choqok is in the repository  but its kde4 only, i have submitted a request qwit. This client is qt based and should work on kde3.

the request is here: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,64232.new.html#new

Well, it sounds like I  must have kde3, according to what you've told me. Now what?

i submitted a package request for a twitter client that will work on a kde3 install. You now sit and wait for the package to find its way to the repository and download it from there

you can submit a package request of any other twitter client you know of that works in kde3 and wait for it to find its way to the repository

twhirl works for me... it installed on the menu at internet/instant messaging... the only bug (and its a linux thing, not pclos) is that it won't remember my passwords. I tried tweetdeck awhile back but iot was too buggy... but it's probably time to try again

air and twirl both install under the hidden directory ".appdata"... I'd delete this manually before trying another install

EDIT: oops... spoke too soon... apparently one of my recent updates took out twhirl or air.... gotta check into this

Well, I tried installing some apps again, & although it said "installation complete", there's no sign of the apps. No icon, no menu item. Now what?

I'm still puzzling this out. I uninstalled air via synaptic and deleted all three hidden directories associated w/air & twirl... then I reinstalled air... that seemed to go well and Synpatic found my installation after "reload"... so I tried to install twhirl... it did ok... and even started up... after I entered my ID/pwd, it disappeared :(

Undaunted, I tried to install tweetdeck... it seems to a have a lib error... so I'm back to puzzling out twhirl again... I'll post back if I can figure out what's happening. So far nothing is in the logs to indicate the problem... bummer

EDIT:... Can anyone point me to a site/link that has old versions of Adobe Air for linux?

Just updated Adobe Air(finally), but I STILL have the same problem. The app installer opens & prepares to install, then disappears. What do I do? Please help!!

why not use linux native application to access twitter? ..this package seem to either be broken in linux or in pclinuxos ...

If you're referring to Twitux or Qwit, I don't really like either. They don't have the features I want.

I just figured it out. It takes some work with Terminal to get Tweetdeck running.  First, check that you have KDE Wallet or Gnome Keyring, whichever is appropriate, installed through Synaptic. Then follow the steps in this document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/492/cpsid_49267.html

Then follow this:
Code: [Select]
rm -fr /etc/opt/Adobe/certificates/crypt/ Note that there are separate insctructions for KDE and Gnome.

I found both of these in a recent post on Tweetdeck's forum which can be accessed from the Tweetdeck homepage.
