How to build Cinelerra against libx264_50 or 56

I thought it was time to update & rebuild Cinelerra, but it seems to require x264-dev (older version).  Build dies with libx264_50 (current?).  I though someone in this had worked around this difficultly, but seem to find the fix.  Any suggestions?
