Epson Workforce 600
« on: October 09, 2009, 03:42:51 PM »
I have a Epson WorkForce 600 all in one printing to it wireless. I do not see any drivers for it in PCLOS printer set up wizard even though it sees the printer. Any one else been able to get the Workforce 600 set up in PCLOS? Thank you

See the following link.

You can get a ppd file for the printer.

I have an Epson Workforce 310 and see it on this page. I downloaded one of the several apparently suitable options and installed it. NOw I appear to have borked my system. That's cool, I needed the practice reinstalling PCLOS anyway, but is this the sort of thing that should go into the Package Suggest section?

I have that printer (and like it a lot)

Why go 'outside' when the drivers are part of the distro?

I didn't have to do anything special. I went to PCC then Hardware then Set up Printers then Add a Printer. I followed the prompts and when I got to the screen with the drivers I went to Epson and then down to the Workforce drivers and chose Workforce 600.

What version of PCLOS are you installing? If you install the "mini" version you will need to install the support for printers. Open Synaptic and find/click on 'task-printing' and it will pull in all the packages you need.

Otherwise if you are installing a 'full' version the drivers and support utils should all be there. This is based on my experience with 2010 KDE. I can't speak to the other flavors of PCLOS

I hijacked the thread for my Workforce 310. Is that the printer you have?

Installing the RPM appears to have broken my system. I can't get to the adding New Printer option - it just freezes. No biggie, I'll reinstall tomorrow.

If you are asking me, no I have the Epson Workforce 600. But the 310 driver is in the Epson printer driver package that gets installed when you install the task-printer package in Synapatic.

I reinstalled and still no joy with my Workforce 310. I'll start my own thread for this one.
