updated my system to new libs, restarted and all is well so far ..tried running alienarena2009 from their website and it ran without issues(it complained about old glibc) ...

who said pclinuxos is based on old libraries? people will complain now that our libraries are too new :D ...people will always find stuff to complain about..

what about libopenal? i had to update it for aa09 and i think it hasn't been updated in the repo still...
do you have sound in aa?

I'll update the package and post it.

Packagers please remove the gcc section from your synaptic sections list as it will be removed from the repos now.
