No audio with kernel 2.6.26.8.tex4
« on: September 15, 2009, 08:44:49 AM »
I upgraded my kernel from 2.6.26.8.tex3 to 2.6.26.8.tex4 and now I have no audio.  None at all.  If I re-boot into 2.6.26.8.tex3 audio is restored.  No matter what settings I've tried there is no audio at all.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Just to make sure, I think you mean 2.6.26.8.tex4?? Not here cause I'm running the 2.6.27.31.tex5 "testing" kernel... :D
Why?

I guess you call that an OOPS!  Yes, I intended that to be .26 and not .28.   :-[

Due to kernel problems in the past I've tended to shy away from "testing" kernels and thought that since this kernel upgrade had been in the repo for some time there were no problems with it.  Maybe I was mistaken?

Do you have alsa updated also, and you try running alsaconf from a konsole?? Alsa and sound are also services in PCC>system>services, make sure under that kernel that they are still set to start at boot, they should still be,but crazier things happen.

I ran alsaconf and made sure that my sound card was configured properly and that alsa was set on system boot up.  Still no audio on tex4.
