Google Chromium and the 'about:linux-splash' Tab
« on: August 31, 2009, 03:00:58 AM »
I use Google Chromium and was annoyed and having the 'about:linux-splash' tab open each time. So I got rid of it by entering my homepage in the startup command. Here's how I did it for anyone that's interested.

Desktop Icon
  • Right click over the desktop icon
  • Select Properties
  • Click on the Application tab
  • Go to the end of the entry in the Command: field - you should see %u
  • delete %u and replace with your homepage url - mine is www.google.com/ig
  • If you don't have %u then just press space then enter your homepage url as above
  • Click OK

Menu Entry
  • Open the Kmenu
  • Locate and right click over the menu entry for Chromium
  • Select 'Edit Item'
  • Go to the end of the entry in the Command: field - you should see %u
  • delete %u and replace with your homepage url - mine is www.google.com/ig
  • If you don't have %u then just press space then enter your homepage url as above
  • Click on the Save icon in the toolbar, or select Save from the File menu, or press Crtl+S
Hope that helps
