I see a new version of webmin has made it into the repos..  and it seems to have the issue with $home/tmp permissions being changed to root ownership!  :o

If someone doesn't get around to it first, I will try to take a look at it later this weekend.

The new version is fine. It is due to the removal of the previous webmin. It will get you when you install and again when it is removed during the upgrade.

Well, I installed the latest version this evening and I must say... Joble, I wanted to kick your ****.  I think it should come with instructions to install from the root account, and not from a user account as guest, cause after I installed it my firefox and flock went kaplooey....   Started ff in konsole to see that my /tmp file was not writeable..  So I just changed it all by meself back to me:me...  BUT... other than that, it's fantastic!!!  Now I don't have to configure all the file paths to all the servers, because seems like it's done for me... Great!!!!!!

Uh, I long since gave up on this, and I warned ya, I had no way to test it, and Tex warned ya.  I feel no pang of guilt now after all this time.  (Still sorry bout that though).  I won't be trying to update this, ever again.

Wait a minute!  Didn't you update two posts ago?  So, How could I get you again?  What!?

That is what I thought too..    ..you must of put some good voodoo into that package!

Honestly, I don't know if it was webmin, as I had a very large number of updates..  I just had a deja-vu moment when suddenly some of my apps were failing to start and leaving messages in console about tmp not being write-able..

it only took me about 10 seconds to figure it out, so no hard feelings here..  just a friendly nudge in the ribs!  ;)
