[SOLVED]ffmpeg fails

ffmpeg now fails for some reason heres the output

ffmpeg: relocation error: /usr/lib/libavdevice.so.52: symbol snd_pcm_htimestamp, version ALSA_0.9 not defined in file libasound.so.2 with link time reference

ffmpeg is at the newest version. how do i aproch this?

i have no idear whats going on here i never installed any thing outside of the repos. im using this mirror http://mirrors.xservers.ro/pclinuxos/apt/

I had the same problem, but I chose a simpler and lighter solution that does not require updating the whole system and rebooting, good if you are running a production server:

yum install alsa-lib

I had the same problem, but I chose a simpler and lighter solution that does not require updating the whole system and rebooting, good if you are running a production server:

yum install alsa-lib

yum  ?
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver
