You have to type the command. In your navigation bar, like that:

http://www.howtogeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/geo05.png

Please, go to

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/1672/deactivate-location-aware-browsing-in-firefox-3.5/

as Texstar pointed to, and see in this page how to configure this item in the "about:config" configuration interface.

Ok, I changed the setting, closed firefox, restarted it, went to browserspy and it says the geo-location is enabled and shows a map to my house. (I have noscript disabled for this page, but I did not get a pop-up from firefox saying anything about giving away my location!)

Galen

Correction: The page shows my approximate location based in IP address. But it is VERY close! Also, it reports that my browser supports geo-location.

Hay there Galen
Don't know what to say about the "Geolocation" thing except maybe the site knows it's there but Firefox has already said no so there's no pop up to say no to ? If you turn off JavaScript it's blank which basically equals "no" (I only allow JS on a site by site basis and only then when needed, love that NoScript ;D). "They" have been able to locate your IP for some time now I'd guess, Unless you go through a anonymizing proxy of some sort, you're pretty much stuck on the IP address. Lucky for me the address for my IP is a hour and a half away from here. ;)
Plan to be spontaneous tomorrow.

Thanks Tex :)

That explains all those pop-up offers to meet girls from my neighborhood ::)

Pollo, I'd guess that that's more a function of your IP addy.

What sites have you been visiting that make those offers, hmmm?   ::)

Oh wait!  How would I know to ask that?!!

Is it just me, or has anyone else's Firefox slowed down drastically after applying the geo.locator = false fix?
Very very slow finding outside links, i.e. links referred to by the page you're on.

edit -  Having trouble with FF 3.5 with or without the geo fix applied.
I'll move to the appropriate forum.
